The Gidget Fund is a fully-funded project of Keeshond Lovers United, Inc. (KLU) and was developed to meet needs of senior rescued keeshonden.  It is designed to enable the senior dog to enjoy its golden years in a home of its own.  Ideally the senior dogs can be placed in homes of senior citizens to provide quality of life for both canine and human.  Senior dogs are an added blessing to our lives and will add much to a senior citizen’s life also.  It takes a special person or family to adopt or foster an older dog.  The old dogs are usually the last to be considered for adoption.  Unfortunately some must journey to the Rainbow Bridge without the love of a human family.

The Gidget Fund will pay for or assist in paying for veterinary care, medication, training, grooming, equipment, food and supplements for qualified dogs and owners or foster families.

By limiting its assistance to senior dogs, the Gidget Fund does not duplicate assistance  available from other clubs and organizations but instead complements them so they can devote their funds to other needy causes.

KLU has licensed shelters in the states of Kansas and Missouri.  Its rescue efforts are concentrated in the Midwest, primarily Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.  KLU is recognized as a 501(c)3 charitable organization by the IRS and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
